Dear Friends,
I wanted to give you a summary of what’s been happening at the Capitol during the special session. The Democrats have once again shown their true colors, pushing through legislation that prioritizes their agenda over the needs of hardworking Coloradans.
The Ballot Initiatives: Confusion by Design
The ballot initiatives currently being proposed are nothing short of misleading. Take Initiative #50, for example. The question is framed in a way that asks voters about increasing taxes—an approach designed to confuse. The reality is, this initiative requires a yes vote to protect our interests, but it’s written so that most voters will automatically say no without understanding the full implications. The Democrats are banking on this confusion to further their goals.
Property Tax Bill: A Short-Sighted Solution
Let me be clear about my position on the property tax bill. The Democrats have held majorities in the state house, senate, and governorship for years. They’ve made the decisions that brought us to this point—where teacher pay, fire districts, roads, and other critical issues have been neglected. Now, they’re scrambling to fix the mess they created, but their solutions are too little, too late.
What Was Passed
As the Special Session comes to an end, this is what was passed from that point on:
HB24B-1001: Property Tax Relief Read the bill here
HB24B-1003: Business Personal Property Tax Exemptions Read the bill here
While these bills offer some relief, they don’t address the root of the problem. The Democrats have failed to manage the budget responsibly, and now Coloradans are left to pick up the pieces. Special Session Wrap-Up & DCSD Intimidation.
Douglas County School Board: This Mom Stands Up Against the Intimidation
Last night, the liberal school board members attacked me with baseless accusations. They labeled me a bully and claimed that I harassed a teacher at my child’s school. Brad Geiger went as far as calling me a lunatic, while Susan accused me of abusing my power as a legislator. Even our so-called conservative board member, Tim Moore, made some pretty disgusting remarks about me on the record—without even bothering to reach out to hear my side of the story.
This is not just an attack on me; it’s an attack on every parent who dares to hold teachers accountable for the indoctrination of our children. We cannot allow the liberal school board members to continue bullying parents for standing up for what’s right.
Call to Action
I need every one of you to stand with me by emailing the school board and demanding that they stop this intimidation of parents who hold teachers accountable. Your voice matters, and together, we can make a difference.
