📌 The Bradley Bulletin: Colorado is at a Crossroads & We’re the Ones Driving

Dear House District 39 Residents,

I’m writing this because I love Colorado. I cherish our stunning landscapes, vibrant communities, and the spirit of resilience that defines us. But right now, our beloved state is at a tipping point, and I need to be candid:

If you aren’t voting, you are allowing someone else to decide your future.

In recent years, we’ve seen a shift in our state’s political landscape that threatens the values we hold dear. This is a crucial time for each of us to stand up and make our voices heard. Every vote matters, and history has shown us just how thin the margins can be.

Consider these facts right here in Colorado:

  • In 2022, Colorado's 3rd Congressional District was decided by 546 votes out of roughly 327,000 cast. That’s just seven-hundredths of a percentage point. It took a mandatory recount to confirm it. A congressional seat came down to fewer people than fit in a high school gym.

  • Many local elections, including school board positions and tax measures, are decided by fewer than 50 votes. These decisions directly impact our families, schools, and communities. When we don’t vote, we’re letting others choose the direction of our local policies and resources.

  • In past elections, hundreds of thousands of Coloradans have chosen to stay home. This “silent majority” has inadvertently handed the reins to those who may not represent our values or priorities. When you opt out of the process, you are essentially giving away your power.

Let’s talk about the practicalities of voting in Colorado.

If you put your ballot in the mail this week, there is a real chance it will not count. Not because of fraud, and not because of a conspiracy. Colorado is a "received by 7 p.m." state. A postmark means nothing here. If your ballot isn't physically in the Douglas County clerk's hands by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, it does not count. That is the entire rule. The deadline to mail it has already passed.

So: do not mail it. Drop it in a box.

There are 23 drop boxes in Douglas County, open 24 hours a day, and you can use any one of them. Over 90% of us live within three miles of one, and the closest to our neighborhoods are listed at the bottom of this email. It takes 30 seconds.

Let me tell you why 30 seconds matters:

Last November, the Castle Pines City Council race in District 2 was decided by 33 votes out of 2,149 cast. Thirty-three people chose that seat, in a town most of us drive through every week.

Meanwhile, when Douglas County held its home rule charter vote in June 2025, roughly seven in ten voters stayed home. Seven in ten let the other three decide how their own county is governed.

So if your ballot is on the counter right now, put it in the car. If it's under 3 days of mail, dig it out. If you never got one, or aren't sure you're registered, go to a voter service center they'll fix it on the spot and you can vote there. Four are open across the county.

Don’t be the reason House District 39 goes off the cliff.

Go vote. For our corner of Douglas County. For your family. For our future.
